Returns & Exchanges — WearChapters

We currently do not offer returns or refunds.

Exchanges
Exchanges are available only in case of sizing issues:
- Request within 48 hours of delivery  
- Unboxing or try-on video required  
- Item must be unused and in original condition  

Damaged Items
If you receive a damaged or incorrect product:
- Share a complete unboxing video showing the issue  
- Requests without video proof may not be accepted

Policy for international orders-

1. Policy Overview

  - At Chapters, each piece is crafted in limited quantities with careful attention to detail.

  -Due to the nature of international shipping and operations, we follow a strict return and   refund policy for international orders.

2. No Returns / No Exchanges (General Policy)

All international orders are final sale.

We do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Incorrect size selection
  • Change of mind
  • Preference-related concerns
  • Minor variations in color, texture, or finish

We strongly encourage customers to review size charts and product details carefully before placing an order.

3. Legally Mandated Exceptions (Defects / Errors)

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and E-Commerce Rules, 2020, exceptions apply in the following cases:

A return, replacement, or refund will be considered only if the product is:

  • Defective or damaged upon delivery (exception: handworked pieces with intended alterations and changes are not eligible as defective pieces, example, intentional breaking of sequence pieces at the margins for stitching etc.)
  • Incorrect item delivered
  • Significantly different from product description

4. Claim Window (Strict)

  • Claims must be raised within 48 hours of delivery
  • Requests made after this period may not be accepted

5. Mandatory Proof Requirement

To process any claim, customers must provide:

  • Order number
  • Clear unboxing video (mandatory)
  • Photos showing the issue

👉 Claims without sufficient proof may be rejected.

6. Resolution Process

Once the claim is verified, Chapters will offer one of the following:

  • Replacement (preferred resolution)
  • Store credit
  • Refund (in rare cases, at company discretion)

7. Refund Terms (If Applicable)

  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method, only after the products are returned to the original address.
  • Processing time: 7–10 business days after approval
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable

8. Return Shipping (If Approved)

  • If a return is approved, the customer may be required to ship the item back
  • International return shipping costs may be:
    • Covered by Chapters (in case of confirmed defect/error), or
    • Shared / borne by the customer depending on case review

9. Non-Eligible Scenarios

Refunds/returns will not be accepted in the following cases- 

  • Product used, worn, or altered
  • No unboxing video available
  • Claim raised after 48 hours
  • Delivery refused due to customs duties
  • Incorrect address provided

10. Customs & Duties Clause

  • Customs duties and import taxes are non-refundable
  • If a shipment is refused due to unpaid duties:
    • No refund will be issued
    • Additional shipping charges may apply for re-delivery

11. Cancellation policy

  • Orders once placed cannot be cancelled after processing

13. Policy Acceptance

By placing an international order with Chapters, the customer:

  • Acknowledges and agrees to this policy
  • Accepts limited return rights only in cases of defects or errors
